Gelukkig liep de wedstrijd daarvoor wat uit en dus kon er alsnog gezamenlijk worden ingespeeld. In deze grote zaal is het toch iedere keer weer wennen aan alle rumoer en moet je flink je best doen om jezelf te laten horen.
Waar het team vorige week tegen Vedo’70 nog een tamelijk matte indruk maakte, was dat deze keer wel anders.
De verwachtingen van de opponent waren hoog gespannen, gezien de set uitslagen van de voorgaand wedstrijden. AVVA begon gretig aan de wedstrijd en wist zelfs een kleine voorsprong op te bouwen. De servicedruk werd nu beter behouden dan de week daarvoor en dat bracht zeker het gewenste resultaat met zich mee.
Door een aantal kleine foutjes kwam Libanon in de slotfase toch nog langszij en maakte het keurig af: 25-20.
In de tweede set stond er al snel tegen een fikse achterstand op het scorebord voor de bezoekers.
Toch vochten de dames zich knap terug in de wedstrijd. Libanon bleek echter een geduchte tegenstander en gaf niet zo maar op. Naast Libanon als tegenstander, bleek ook de scheidsrechter een ware tegenstander voor de bezoekers. Op techniek werd er niet gefloten, soms voordelig voor beide teams, antennes, lijnen, gestolen ballen en touchés zijn allemaal voorbij gekomen maar daar werd dan zeer dubieus voor gefloten. Soms had zelfs Libanon hier ook last van, maar voor het merendeel moesten de bezoekers het ontgelden. 25-19.
De derde set bleek een echte thriller te zijn. Beide teams gingen redelijk gelijk op. AVVA had vaak de overhand en wist ook het setpoint te bereiken. In een ongelofelijk lange rally die uiteindelijk werd gewonnen door AVVA werd alles uit de kast gehaald. Mede door stuntelig optreden van de scheidsrechter ging de set (wellicht niet helemaal verdiend) naar Libanon. 28-26.
In de 4e set kwam er gelukkig gerechtigheid. Libanon had grootse moeite de passing onder controle te houden en aan het net werden er veel persoonlijke fouten gemaakt.
AVVA was gretig op de winst en pakte deze dan ook ruim met 17-25.
